Abstract: Objective To study the the effect of complex shark cartilage on immune function in tumor-bearing mice. Methods The carbon clearance, DBFB delayed hypersensitivity, and immune organs were examined in tumor-bearing BALB/C mice. Results Complex shark cartilage enhanced significantly the carbon clearance and DBFB delayed hypersensitivity and markedly increased the index of spleen and thymus in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion complex shark cartilage may enhance the suppressed immune function in tumor-bearing mice.
