Abstract: Objective To discuss the method and process of prescription evaluation and establish evaluation process of rational utility of antimicrobial drug in the emergency. Methods The prescribing information and emergency medical information of Cefepime hydrochloride for injection were collected and analyzed. The trend of drug consumption, indications, programs and medication procedures. were assessed. Results The Cefepime hydrochloride for injection was used in treatment of biliary tract infections and surgical traumas, most of which were depended on experience and a clear indication for drugs. The ratio of rational utility was 91.80%. The ratio of combined rational utility was 87.83%. The ratio of regulate application was 20.18%. The utility of Cefepime hydrochloride for injection should be interfered. Conclusion The assessment process of antibiotic drugs in emergency department had overcome the limitations of prescription evaluation which fully considered the infection surveillance and complexity of the disease. The process was more reasonable on objective assessment of drug use.
