  • Objective To prepare nicardipine hydrochloride sustained-release pellets and investigate the influencing factors of the drug release in vitro. Methods The rapid-release pellets were prepared by fluidized bed coating method based on blank pill core and then nicardipine hydrochloride sustained-release pellets were prepared with surelease. The factors to influence the drug release behaviors and their properties were evaluated. Results The release percentage of the sustained-release pellets could be controlled by 24%, 69%, 87% at 2 h, 6 h, 12 h respectively, the drug release mechanism in vitro followed first-order equations. Conclusion The pellets showed an obviously sustained-release effect.The preparation process was simple and convenient.
