Abstract: OBJECTIVE To screen antitumour medicine from 110 Tibetan medicines.METHODS Dried plant materials were ground and were extracted by petrol ether and 90% ethanol separately.The 90% ethernal extracts were used to test cultured five human tumour cells: BC1, Lu1, Co12, KB and LNCaP and one rat tumour cell ASK. RESULTS Five Tibetan medicines were found to display cytotoxic effects in cultured tumor cells. CONCLUSION The result would be used as reference for further Tibetan medicine research.
