Abstract: Objective To evaluate the economic effectiveness of 3 therapeutic schemes for lower respiratory tract infection in the elderly. Methods Three schemes of the treatment of lower respiratory tract infection in the elderly from literatrure cefoperazone/sulbactam(A), imipenem/cilastatin(B), ceftazidime(C) were selected. Data was evaluated using the pharmacoeconomic cost-effectiveness analysis. Results According to the evaluation by cost-effectiveness analysis, C was the best scheme. Conclusion The cost-effectiveness analysis is very important in optimizing therapeutic scheme, guiding rational drug use and increasing economic effectiveness.
